Meet out head instructors: PJ Sweda and Elizabeth Bakey

PJ Sweda

Pj has been training in martial arts for over 15 years, fighting for 12 years, and teaching for 6 years.

He currently holds the WKA Pro Inter-National 70kg Muay Thai Title.

His teaching goes beyond teaching fighters. He loves teaching beginners and the youth. Nothing fulfills him more than helping people find a passion for Muay Thai, reach personal goals, and build self-confidence through Muay Thai.

Elizabeth Bakey

Liz has been training in Muay Thai for 12 years - five of those years under the leadership and knowledge of Professional Fighter and Coach, PJ Sweda. Liz volunteers her time to SMT. Her main area of focus is conditioning - teaching students to push past their physical and mental limits - as well as mobility and kettlebell training. Her passion is to allow people to find their own self-confidence and to carry these lessons over into their everyday lives.

“Muay Thai is a tough sport; it forces you to fight when you have nothing left to give. If you have a weakness, it will expose it and make you strengthen it. This is why I love it. Life is tough, but we are tougher. If you want to truly learn about who you are and who you can become, train Muay Thai.” - Liz
